Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) Library E-Discovery Week will take place from October 10-14. It aims to promote better understanding and increase usage of quality electronic resources amongest XJTLU staff and students. Take part in our activities to enter a Lucky Draw. Activity 1: E-Discovery Challenge
19 e-resource exhibition booths are set up at the Library’s main entrance hall, showcasing some featured electronic resources within the Library’s collection. Learn more about the resources and take part in the E-Discovery Challenge by taking a paper quiz distributed on site and complete all the 6 questions about the resources as well as 4 searching queries with the assistance of event staff and volunteers and hints provided. Challengers shall verify their answers with the volunteers before submitting their completed quizzes for the E-Discovery Challenge Lucky Draw.
Activity 2: E-Resource Training Workshops
The Library will arrange 12 e-resource training courses to introduce various e-resources and smart searching skills. Local librarians and vendor representatives/training specialists will introduce the content coverage and special features of the designated resources and tips on smart searching. Participants will also have the opportunities for hands-on practice. You shall register online at LibCal (http://libcal.lib.xjtlu.edu.cn) or at the information desk of the event. Complete a short quiz at the end of each workshop to enter the E-Resource Training Lucky Draw. You may join any number of these workshops to maximize your chance to win a prize. Off-site Activity: E-Discovery Week Photo Booth and Sina Weibo Gift Giving
During the E-Dicovery Week, you are welcomed to take photos at our photo booth using various photo props prepared by the Library. Upload your photo to Sina Weibo, @西交利物浦大学图书馆, add the topic #E-Discovery Week 2016#, and tell us your experience of library searching tools or databases, or your suggestions and comments on our digital collection development. Collect a gift at the information desk of the event by showing their Weibo post. Gifts will be handed out on a “first come, first serve” basis. After the E-Discovery Week, 3 participants will be randomly chosen to win portable power banks.
