This is a library session for postgraduate students in the 2017 pre-master summer course.
Many types of modern statistical graphs can be produced easily with R in an elegant way. In this session, Dr. Zhao will briefly introduce a variety of academic graphs, including basic ones such as histograms and box plots, as well as some seldom-used graphs such as animated images and interactive graphs, based on his new book "Modern Statistical Graphs" (co-authored with Yihui Xie and Xiangyun Huang).
1. A demonstration of R graphing, using the demo data set from the previous series
2. Show time: a variety of graphs we often use in scientific research
3. Useful graphing R packages
Dr. Peng ZHAO, Assistant Professor, Department of Health and EnvSciences
Before this session, it is suggested to also take part in 'R Workshop Series 1:Data analysis with R language - an introduction' for basic knowledge of R.
