Wiley will limit patrons’ download times
Event Notice
10 September 2013, Tuesday

Dear all,

In order to prevent malicious visitors from publishing the contents of Wiley and our cooperative associations through some free web sites, Wiley will take appropriate measures to ensure that their intellectual property is protected at the highest level. Nonetheless, Wiley will still try to keep the user-friendly functions and provide the direct access to the contents ordered.

Since now, Wiley will limit the download behaviors of the registered users of Wiley Online Library. The maximum times of download of all users, which includes the download of full-text, chapters and encyclopedia entries, will be limited to 100 every day, based on the daily usage of the day before. The restriction shall not apply to the users who own intellectual property rights certifications.

In the future, Wiley will launch monitoring and warning systems aimed at all access methods gradually. Therefore, we hope that you can fulfill the agreement to avoid the systematic downloading.

According to the XJTLU Copyright Guide, authorised users are usually allowed to view, download or print a copy of an article from the Library’s electronic resources portal for personal use (study, teaching, research). However, bulk downloading using Internet tools or systematic downloading/printing are strictly prohibited. Authorised users are also not allowed to use the Library’s electronic resources for commercial purposes on all accounts. All the other electronic resources in the Library are also subject to such requirements and any violators themselves must suffer the consequences concerned.
