XJTLU Library Announce: No Fines for Overdue Items
Others
29 November 2024, Friday

To make our library resources more accessible, remove barriers to educational materials, and enhance our faculty and students’ experience and support in their teaching and research, the library will no longer charge fines for overdue items starting 1st September 2024. The details are as follows:

    1. The overdue fines have been processed at circulation desk from 1st September 2024 will not be uploaded to service charge system.

    2. The overdue fines previously paid before 1st September 2024 are non-refundable.

    3. If the item on loan is lost or damaged, a fine will still be charged and the policy remains constant.

Under the new process, if an item is overdue, no fines will be charged, but reminder emails will continue to be sent. However, the borrowing privileges (including borrowing, renewal, reservation and inter-branch book delivery) will be temporarily suspended until the overdue item is returned.

For this to work, we need everybody in our library community to play their part. You can log into Library OPAC to check how many books you have and their status, or renew them online.

If you have any queries or suggestion, please contact our staff at circulation desk, or send an email to library-service@xjtlu.edu.cn.
