On April 14, the globally renowned academic publication group Elsevier officially released its 2021 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers list. Two experts from XJTLU, Professor Adam Cross and Professor David Goodman, were recognized for their contributions to the field of Applied Economics and Sociology correspondingly. It’s the first time for XJTLU to have scholars being selected in Elsevier’s Highly Cited Chinese Researchers list since its first publication in 2015.
Elsevier’s list was determined using data from Scopus, a highly regarded worldwide abstract and citation database. The list aims to credit individuals who are leading the world’s academic advancement by analyzing and rating Chinese scholars' influence. This year, a total of 4,701 researchers from 523 universities, enterprises and scientific research institutions are on the list, covering 84 first-level disciplines in 10 subject areas approved by China's Ministry of Education.
Professor Adam Cross is the Associate Dean for Learning and Teaching from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. His researches mainly discuss the internationalization of Asian multinational firms, the cross-border licensing and management of intellectual property, and start-up ecosystems, with China serving as a country context for much of his works. He has 39 research outputs indexed by Scopus with more than 2000 citations.
Professor David Goodman is a former Board Monitor and Vice President of XJTLU. His research interests are social and political change at the local level in China, class and social stratification in China and the history of the Communist Party of China. He has 98 research outputs indexed by Scopus with 906 citations.
