In an innovative step toward enhancing study environments, XJTLU Library has successfully implemented a pilot IoT-powered noise management system in Group Study Room D-3016f at Taicang Campus. This collaborative project with the School of Internet of Things marks a significant advancement in smart library solutions.

The new system addresses long-standing challenges with noise disruption in shared study spaces. Using real-time audio sensors and visual LED alerts, it provides immediate feedback when noise levels exceed recommended limits, allowing students to self-regulate their discussions while maintaining a productive atmosphere.

Beyond improving the library experience, this initiative serves as an important interdisciplinary project. IoT students gained hands-on experience in sensor deployment and data analysis, while library professionals contributed user experience insights to shape the technology's implementation.

The library team will monitor the system's effectiveness over the coming months, with potential for expansion to additional spaces based on user feedback and performance data. Students and faculty are encouraged to experience the technology firsthand in Room D-3016f and share their observations with library staff.
