西交利物浦大学图书馆近日正式加入国际高校图书馆协会（International Association of University Libraries，IATUL）。该组织致力于推动全球学术与研究型图书馆的发展，是国际高校图书馆界重要的专业合作网络。
Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Library has officially joined the International Association of University Libraries (IATUL), a leading international organisation dedicated to advancing academic and research library services worldwide.
IATUL 于 1955 年 5 月在德国杜塞尔多夫成立，最初名为“国际理工大学图书馆协会”，旨在为理工类高校图书馆提供一个交流理念与实践经验的国际平台。经过多年的发展，该组织现已汇聚来自 60 余个国家的 240 余家成员图书馆，形成覆盖六大洲的重要国际学术图书馆合作网络。
Founded in Düsseldorf, Germany in May 1955, IATUL was originally established as the International Association of Technological University Libraries, serving as an international forum for the exchange of ideas and professional practices among technological university libraries. Over the decades, the association has evolved into a global network of more than 240 member libraries across over 60 countries, fostering collaboration and innovation among research libraries on six continents.
通过国际会议、专题兴趣小组以及多样化的合作项目，IATUL 为成员图书馆提供交流与合作的平台，共同探讨当代研究型图书馆面临的重要战略议题，包括信息素养教育、开放获取、数字学术以及图书馆空间与服务模式的转型等。
Through its conferences, special interest groups, and international initiatives, IATUL supports member libraries in addressing key strategic issues facing contemporary research libraries, including information literacy, open access, digital scholarship, and the evolving roles of library spaces and services in the digital age.
成为 IATUL 成员后，西浦图书馆将获得多方面的专业发展机会，包括参与国际会议与学术交流网络、加入专题兴趣小组开展国际合作，以及申请国际研究与学习项目等。这些平台将进一步促进图书馆与国际同行的交流合作，推动服务模式与专业能力的持续创新。
As a member of IATUL, XJTLU Library will gain access to a wide range of professional opportunities, including participation in international conferences and expert networks, collaboration within global special interest groups, and staff development programmes such as the International Research and Study Programme. These opportunities will further support the Library’s engagement with international best practices and strengthen its capacity for service innovation.
此次加入 IATUL 也体现了西浦图书馆持续深化国际合作与专业交流的战略方向，进一步彰显其作为服务国际化大学的研究型图书馆，在全球学术图书馆网络中的积极参与与发展潜力。
The membership also reflects XJTLU Library’s continued commitment to international engagement and professional collaboration, reinforcing its role as a research library supporting a globally oriented university community.
