2020年8月中旬，以国家外专局所捐赠的大批珍贵书籍为依托，我校图书馆一楼专设外国专家书屋，供馆内中外师生交流学习。 外国专家书屋占地面积约92平米，共计藏书两千余册，日均访问量约300人次。

In mid-August 2020, relying on a large number of valuable books donated by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, a foreign expert’s book house was set up on the first floor of our university’s library for exchanges and cultural understanding between Chinese and foreign teachers and students. The foreign expert’s book house covers ​​about 92 square meters, has a collection of more than 2,000 volumes, and has an average daily visit volume of about 300 people.

内容上，书屋涵盖政治、经济、文化、外交等诸多领域专业书籍，极大地丰富了图书馆在中国文化专业研究领域的馆藏。在校国际师生，既能通过在书屋进行广泛的阅读从而融入并了解中国环境，又能通过深度阅读，更便利地获取与自身教学或项目研究相关文献资料，并在此基础上拓展深化相关专业领域内的研究。

The book house has an extensive collection of professional books in politics, economics, culture, diplomacy, and many other fields, which greatly enriches the library's collections in the field of China research

International teachers and students at the university can integrate and understand China through extensive reading in the book house,through in-depth reading along with the book house’s more convenient way of accessing information. Moreover,they will be able to quickly access their teaching or project related-documents, allowing them to expand and deepen their research in their respective fields.

空间上，书屋作为集中展示中国文化的空间与场所，为我校国际师生开辟了一块钻研专业知识，讨论研究中国文化的新据点。在这里，他们除了能更便捷、快速而集中获取海量中国文化相关的多语言书籍，还能与来自不同国别专攻不同领域的专家共同讨论、交流在各自领域的研究进展与成果。

The book house has made a massive effort to display books and artifacts that proudly shows off Chinese culture. It is hoped that it will open up a new base for our university's international teachers and students to study professional materials and discuss Chinese culture. The book house is quick, convenient, and centralized access to a vast collection of multilingual books related to Chinese culture. They can also discuss and exchange research progress and results in their respective fields with experts from different countries specializing in different fields.

以数学学院研二的加拿大学生Matthew所代表的一大批热爱中国文化的外国学生的话来评价，他们认为书屋的建立是“一项非常棒的举措”，为他们研究中国文化，查阅图书资料提供了极大的便利。

Many international students have expressed their love of China as well as of Chinese culture,this sentiment is represented by Canadian student Matthew, a master student of the School of Mathematics. They think that the book house's establishment is "a great move", which provides them with great opportunities for studying Chinese culture and reading books and materials at their convenience.

自书屋建成以来，所展示书籍已成为我馆研究中国文化书籍的重要来源之一，并获得了广大师生的广泛好评，为图书馆进一步发挥其作为文化窗口、服务载体的功能添砖加瓦，卓有成效。今后，西浦图书馆仍将以外国专家书屋为研究中国文化交流专业知识的载体，根据外国师生的需求与反馈，不断扩充图书资料，不断提升书屋服务水平，在为国际师生提供优质服务的同时，力求拓展书屋在内容与空间上的积极效用，服务于广大师生以及国际专家人才。

Since the book house's completion, the books on display have become one of the important sources for our library to study China. The book house has won wide acclaim from teachers and students. It has effectively contributed to the library's objectives of being a cultural ambassador and a facilitator of cultural understanding.

In the future, XJTLU Library will continue to consider the foreign expert’s book house as the medium for studying China and cross-cultural communication. According to foreign teachers’ and students' needs and feedback, the book house will continue to expand the book collection, improve the service, and provide high-quality services to international teachers and students. At the same time, the book house strives to expand its positive effect on foreign teachers, students, and international experts by expanding the content and creating an atmosphere conducive to learning about Chinese culture.
