西交利物浦大学图书馆与利物浦大学图书馆联合展览暨合作开幕仪式于2026年5月12日圆满落幕。活动以线上线下相结合的方式，在两校图书馆同步举行。利物浦大学副校长兼教务长Professor Richard Black、西浦首席数字官兼知识与信息中心主任毕新博士、利物浦大学图书馆、博物馆及美术馆馆长 Dr. Matthew Greenhall、西浦图书馆馆长杨丽萍女士、西浦设计学院建筑系系主任 Dr. Juan Carlos Dall'Asta博士携设计学院团队代表共同出席开幕式。两校图书馆馆员、设计学院代表及学生代表共同见证了这一具有纪念意义的时刻。
The Opening Ceremony of the Joint Exhibition and Collaboration between XJTLU Library and the University of Liverpool Library was successfully held on 12 May 2026 in a hybrid format across both campuses. The ceremony was attended by Professor Richard Black, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost of the University of Liverpool; Dr. Xin Bi, Chief Officer of Data and Director of the XJTLU Knowledge and Information Centre; Dr. Matthew Greenhall, Director of the University of Liverpool Libraries, Museums and Galleries; Ms. Liping Yang, University Librarian of XJTLU Library; as well as Dr. Juan Carlos Dall’Asta, Head of the Department of Architecture at the Design School, together with representatives from the Design School team. Library staff, design faculty members, and student representatives from both universities jointly witnessed this commemorative moment.

值此西交利物浦大学建校二十周年之际，这所由中国西安交通大学与英国利物浦大学携手创办的国际化大学，正迎来回顾合作历程、展望未来发展的重要时刻。过去二十年中，西浦与利物浦大学始终并肩前行，在人才培养、科研创新、文化交流及知识服务等领域不断深化合作。本次联合展览及相关合作项目的启动，不仅生动体现了两校深厚的合作关系，也为双方未来在图书馆服务创新、空间发展及国际交流等方面开启了全新篇章。
As Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) celebrates its 20th anniversary, this international university, jointly founded by Xi’an Jiaotong University in China and the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom, is reaching an important milestone for reflecting on its collaborative journey and looking ahead to future development. Over the past two decades, XJTLU and the University of Liverpool have worked hand in hand, continuously deepening their collaboration in talent development, research innovation, cultural exchange, and knowledge services. This joint exhibition and collaboration not only serves as a vivid reflection of the strong partnership between the two institutions, but also marks a new chapter for future cooperation in library service innovation, space development, and international engagement.
开幕仪式由西浦图书馆馆长杨丽萍女士主持。她指出，本次活动旨在回顾两校之间的深厚联系，并深入思考图书馆在支持教育、科研创新及全球学术共同体中所发挥的关键作用。她强调，图书馆不仅是藏书之所或物理建筑，更是知识发现、思想交流、社区共建以及未来可能诞生的地方。
The opening ceremony was hosted by Ms. Liping Yang, University Librarian of XJTLU Library. She pointed out that the event aimed to reflect on the strong connection between two universities, and also to reflect on the role libraries have played in supporting education, research innovation, and the global academic community. She emphasized that libraries are never simply about collections or buildings, they are places where knowledge is discovered, ideas are exchanged, communities are built, and future possibilities begin.
毕新博士在开幕式上以利物浦大学校友和西浦图书馆创馆馆长的双重身份，回顾了在利物浦大学的求学时光，以及西浦图书馆建馆初期利物浦大学给予的宝贵支持，并呼吁两馆进一步深化合作，共同应对数字化时代图书馆角色重塑所带来的挑战。
Dr. Xin Bi with his two identities as a University of Liverpool alumnus and the founding university librarian of XJTLU Library, looked back on his student years at Liverpool and the generous support from University of Liverpool Library during the early establishment of XJTLU Library. He called for deeper collaboration between the two libraries to jointly address the challenges brought by the reshaping of the library’s role in the digital age.

Dr. Matthew Greenhall highlighted that this exhibition showcases the library's vital role as a core university space and a platform for student growth. He emphasized that the exhibition is not only a display of the two libraries' functions but also a reflection of the deep partnership between the two universities, and expressed his hope for further collaboration in the future. He concluded by extending warm congratulations to XJTLU on its 20th anniversary.

仪式期间，两馆通过视频连线，带领对方师生“云”探访各自图书馆中照片展。利物浦大学图书馆支持协调员Mr. Jack Wedgwood、图书馆学生合作伙伴Shahzain Tanveer，以及西浦学生大使Marc Huang与Yutong Shen共同出镜，探访利物浦大学图书馆，依次介绍了花园景观、创客空间、自习区域等场所，并特别展示了设于师生往来必经之处的本次照片展展区。西浦图书馆馆员茅文沛、西浦学生Hongyi Huang以及利物浦大学交换生Sammy Wang共同导览了西浦图书馆的展览现场。Hongyi Huang表示，利物浦大学图书馆的照片让他对“2+2”未来学习生活充满了期待。Sammy Wang分享，这些照片承载着她在利物浦大学学习期间的美好回忆。
During the ceremony, the two libraries, via live video, led each other’s faculty and students on a virtual tour of the photo exhibitions in their respective libraries. Mr. Jack Wedgwood, Library Support Coordinator at the University of Liverpool Library, along with Shahzain Tanveer, a library student partner, and XJTLU student ambassadors Marc Huang and Yutong Shen, led the online tour of the University of Liverpool Library. They introduced the garden, makerspace, study areas, and highlighted the exhibition area, placed in a highly visible area that every library visitor passes. Ms. Wenpei Mao, a librarian at XJTLU Library, together with XJTLU student Hongyi Huang and University of Liverpool exchange student Sammy Wang, led the exhibition at XJTLU Library. Hongyi Huang expressed that the photos of the University of Liverpool Library filled him with great expectation for his future “2+2” study life. Sammy Wang shared that these photographs carried fond memories of her time studying in Liverpool.

Professor Richard Black, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Provost of the University of Liverpool, delivered a speech. He pointed out the University of Liverpool and XJTLU share a long and proud history of collaboration spanning two decades, and have developed deep bonds in areas such as student mobility, cultural exchange, and library cooperation. He particularly noted that thousands of XJTLU 2+2 students, while studying in Liverpool, have made great use of library resources, making friendships around library tables and growing in knowledge and confidence. He concluded by expressing his hope that the two libraries will continue to deepen their collaboration in new areas, working together to support student innovation and development.

西浦图书馆与西浦设计学院联合发起的“重塑图书馆空间”项目正式启动。设计学院建筑系系主任 Dr. Juan Carlos Dall’Ast携设计学院团队，包括Dr. Ivan Parati, Mr. Sandro Rolla and Mr. Gianmarco Longo共同参与启动仪式，并代表团队分享了该项目的设计理念与愿景。他指出，图书馆对构建大学身份认同具有重要意义，其核心正从存储转向体验。他希望借助草图、AI及建模渲染，探索从静态到自适应的空间转型，并通过色彩与材质的区分增强空间的统一性与导向性，从而更好地服务学生的学习与成长。
The “Reimagining the Library Spaces” project, jointly initiated by XJTLU Library and the Design School, was officially launched. Dr. Juan Carlos Dall’Asta, Head of the Department of Architecture, together with members of the Design School team, including Dr. Ivan Parati, Mr. Sandro Rolla and Mr. Gianmarco Longo, participated in the launch and shared the project's design philosophy and vision. Dr. Juan Carlos Dall’Asta pointed out that libraries are of fundamental importance in shaping a university's identity, and that their core function is shifting from storage to experience. He hopes to use sketches, AI, and modelling rendering to explore the spatial transformation from static to adaptive, and to enhance the unity and wayfinding of the space through colour and material differentiation, thereby better serving students' learning and growth.

此次合作与展览不仅是庆祝西浦建校二十周年的重要活动之一，也进一步加深了两校图书馆之间的联结与协作。正如西浦图书馆馆长杨丽萍所言，这只是一个新的开始，未来，双方将继续拓展更多形式的合作，共同开启创新发展的新篇章。
This collaboration and exhibition is not only one of the important events celebrating the 20th anniversary of XJTLU, but also further deepens the connection and collaboration between the two university libraries. As Liping Yang, University Librarian of XJTLU, said, this is just a new beginning, in the future, both libraries will continue to explore more forms of cooperation and jointly open a new chapter of innovative development.
