From 12 to 16 October 2026, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) Library successfully held E-Discovery On-the-Go 2026, an annual event aimed at raising awareness of the Library's electronic resources and encouraging their effective use in teaching, learning and research.
Under the theme "ASK AI. FIND ANSWERS. FIND RESOURCES.", this year's event introduced a new approach to resource discovery by integrating the LibAI Portal into a series of interactive activities. The programme featured the AI × Research Resources Fair, E-Discovery Challenge and Research Help Pop-up, offering students and staff opportunities to explore academic resources both online and across campus.
AI × Research Resources Fair
On 14 October, the AI × Research Resources Fair took place outside the Library's east entrance at the SIP campus. Five themed booths — Research Articles, Chinese Resources, Data & Statistics, Subject Resources, and LibAI Portal — showcased different categories of electronic resources available through the Library.
During the fair, students were encouraged to use the LibAI Portal to ask research-related questions, identify relevant databases, and explore resources suited to their academic needs. Librarians provided on-site guidance and demonstrations, helping participants become more familiar with the Library's electronic collections and research tools.
E-Discovery Challenge and Research Help Pop-up
The online E-Discovery Challenge ran from 12 to 16 October, inviting students and staff to explore the Library's electronic resources through an interactive quiz and a lucky draw. The activity recorded 981 participants, reflecting active engagement with the challenge.
Meanwhile, the Research Help Pop-up brought librarians directly into academic buildings across campus, providing face-to-face assistance with electronic resources, research tools, and library services. These outreach sessions offered students and staff convenient opportunities to seek guidance and discover resources relevant to their studies and research.
The event's WeChat promotion received 2,644 views and 462 shares, further extending awareness of the Library's electronic resources and activities across the University community.
Through a combination of AI-assisted resource exploration, interactive learning, and campus outreach, E-Discovery On-the-Go 2026 provided opportunities for students and staff to discover and make effective use of the Library's electronic resources.
XJTLU Library will continue to promote resource awareness and explore innovative approaches to supporting teaching, learning, and research across the University.
