The 10th Researcher Academy Symposium was successfully held in the SIP Campus on May 21, 2024. Organized by the XJTLU Library, and in collaboration with the American Chemical Society (ACS), this symposium served as a vibrant platform for scholars from various backgrounds to explore the preparation of academic publishing and offer guidance to early career researchers. The symposium featured four distinguished speakers: Prof. John Moraros, Dean of the School of Science at XJTLU; Mr. Jing Zhao, Training Supervisor at ACS; Dr. Xiaoqian Li, Development Editor at ACS; and Ms. Lulu Wang, Research and Instruction Librarian at XJTLU. They shared their expertise under the theme "Making Your Next Paper Scientifically Effective—Insights from Leading Scholars and Editors".

Prof. John Moraros, Dean of the School of Science at XJTLU, commenced the symposium with his presentation titled "Navigating the Scholarly Seas: Empowering Researchers for Success," wherein he drew from his research journey to analyze the essential qualities, opportunities, and challenges for a successful research career, offering pertinent advice.

Following that, Mr. Jing Zhao, Training Supervisor at ACS, presented "Submission for Scientific Research: From Academic Writing to Peer Review," dissecting academic writing into distinct phases and elucidating the key points of each step. He also introduced the peer review process and offered insights on effectively responding to reviewer comments.

Dr. Xiaoqian Li, Development Editor at ACS, shared her insights on "Manuscript Rejection: Reasons, Next Steps, and Finding the Right Fit." Utilizing her extensive editing experience, she analyzed common reasons for manuscript rejection and provided strategies for effectively avoiding it.

Finally, Ms. Lulu Wang, Research and Instruction Librarian at XJTLU, introduced the open access services currently offered by XJTLU, particularly highlighting the Open Access Publishing Agreements and the application process.
