
To deepen the connection between the library and the academic community, and to support the academic research and knowledge exploration of faculty and students, the Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Library successfully held the 2025 "Library as A Bridge" communication event on November 27th. Centered around the theme of "Empowering Research, Connecting Communities," the event comprehensively showcased the library's service upgrades and innovative achievements, building a bridge for in-depth communication between the university community and the library team.
为深化图书馆与学术社区的紧密联结,助力师生学术研究与知识探索之路,西交利物浦大学图书馆于11月27日成功举办2025年度“Library as A Bridge”交流活动。本次活动以“助力科研,联通社群”为核心,全面展示了图书馆的服务升级与创新成果,搭建起师生与图书馆团队深度交流的桥梁。
The event featured multiple presentations on how the library supports disciplinary development and research innovation. Professor John Moraros, Dean of the School of Science at XJTLU, shared insights by analyzing the practices that led to the rapid entry of the Chemistry discipline into the ESI global top 1%. He delved into the success factors and key measures, discussing the referential significance of this experience for other disciplines, providing an inspiring research pathway for the attending faculty and students. Jun Wang, Team Leader of Academic Liaison & Reference Services at the Library, briefly introduced the library's systematic support for knowledge creation and research impact enhancement. Meanwhile, Lulu Wang, a Research and Teaching Librarian, demonstrated the efficient application of the LibAI suite of intelligent tools in resource retrieval and service experience through a live demonstration.
活动围绕图书馆如何支持学科发展与研究创新展开多项内容分享。西浦理学院院长John Moraros教授结合化学学科快速进入ESI全球前1%的实践,深入剖析其成功因素与关键举措,并探讨该经验对其他学科发展的借鉴意义,为现场师生提供了富有启发的科研推进路径。图书馆学术联络与参考咨询部主管王俊简要介绍了图书馆在知识创造与科研影响力提升方面的系统支持,而图书馆研究与教学馆员王璐璐则通过现场演示,展示了LibAI系列智能工具在资源检索与服务体验中的高效应用。

The event also included a special "Library Partner Recognition and Appreciation" segment, hosted by Chao Teng, Deputy Director of the Library. During this session, the Library recognised faculty partners who have made outstanding contributions to library–faculty collaboration and academic services.
活动还特别设置“图书馆合作伙伴表彰与致谢”环节,由图书馆副馆长滕超主持。图书馆在该环节表彰了在图书馆与教师合作和学术服务方面做出杰出贡献的教师合作伙伴。

In addition, the Library extended heartfelt appreciation to students who actively participated in various library activities, acknowledging their engagement and contributions to the Library’s ongoing development. During the subsequent free exchange session, faculty, students, and the library team engaged in face-to-face communication on topics such as resource usage, service optimization, and the application of intelligent tools. The library carefully listened to the feedback and suggestions from the attendees.

This event further strengthened the library's role as an academic support nexus and enhanced interaction and understanding between the library and the university community. In the future, the library will continue to rely on such communication platforms to consistently improve its service system, optimize academic support functions, and serve as a vital bridge connecting academic individuals and empowering scientific research and innovation.
